My culinary Journey
Welcome to Çatçat Catering! I’m Gizem Kalkan Çalışkan, a private chef and catering expert passionate about creating unforgettable dining experiences. My culinary journey began in the intense and dynamic environment of a bar kitchen, where I developed a deep respect for traditional flavors and honed my skills. Following that, I dedicated myself to extensive research and culinary trials, cooking for my loved ones and refining my craft.
The name Çatçat is deeply personal—it’s my mother’s nickname. She took this nickname after playing with firecrackers all the time. By using this name, I wanted to infect myself with a little bit of my mother's courage, curiosity and mischief. Learning to cook from her, as well as from my grandmothers and aunts, has been a cornerstone of my life and this name is also a not to these women of my family. Preserving these cherished memories and reviving our culinary traditions has become a central part of my mission.
